General context

CT-FAST Stochastic overcomes the limitations inherent in a deterministic model, by simulating the entire clinical supply chain. CT-FAST Stochastic allows clinical supply groups to effectively take into account the variability of all clinical trial parameters such as enrollment, visit window, randomization, titration/dropout probabilities, stratum probability, and more. Variability has a significant impact on the clinical trial medication supply chain: risk of running out of stock, overage needed, IVRS inventory management parameters, etc. It is therefore critical to be able to simulate potential trial events in order to identify the optimal strategy.

The main goals of the CT-FAST Stochastic engine are to:

anticipate the demand as well as its variability at any place and time during the trial
optimize the trade-off between production overage (production costs) and service level (risk of running out of drug)
define the optimal site supply strategy (security stocks, re-supply quantities)
optimize the shipment frequency and volume
propose relevant production dates and quantities
